Danse(in)
by FREGUIN
Artistic, social, multidisciplinary, collaborative and local, Danse(in) initiates new encounters and endeavours to bring out the sensitivity of each person’s stories.
In collaboration with four of the Hospice Général’s collective housing centres - Praille-Gavard (Carouge), Rigot (Genève), Les Tattes (Vernier), Anières, Le Bac (Lancy), La Seymaz (Thônex), Aïre (Bernex) and Prevessin - Danse(in) creates a space of freedom where Genevans and migrants meet, favouring a culture by all, not just for all.
Centered around creative workshops developed by a groupe of very different artists, the participants are accompanied through practices of dance, music, text, drawing, photography and ceramics. The objective is emancipation through art and to find a common ground that brings us together.
Dancing for reincarnation, putting thoughts onto the paper, proclaiming one’s story, are all actions considered as their own works of art.
A true cultural megaphone, Danse(in) invades Geneva. Public shows are organized in different places such as: Les Bains des Pâquis, La Barje des Lavandières et des Sciences, Un été à Puplinge, la plage de la savonnière and Le Musée Ariana, offering the possibility for both migrants and artists to share the stage and show their work.
Danse(in) is also the subject of Jean Baptiste Bucau’s exhibition in Les Bains des Pâquis from 5th of June to 9th of September.
